It's 10 PM ... Do You Know Where Your Constituents Are?
I posted a 4 minute video/PowerPoint about some ways that the network can and is affecting government, especially at the local/regional level -- .
It is aimed at US elected officials, especially those in executive positions. It starts off with the fairly conventional, but gets edgier as it moves along. It is intended to be provocative and unsettling -- with, hopefully, more punch than I could put into a white paper.
PS. I want to express my thanks to IBSG Marketing and Michael Adams of their team for help in developing and polishing this presentation.

Very nicely, done! It does show that every non-motion-picture video can really pack a punch!

Wonderful stuff, Norm - very powerful. I think the idea of leadership being about catching up to where people already are is positively incendiary in its implications for the models of political leadership with which we are currently burdened. Very nice, and reminds me too of the next phase in this discussion as we move from issues like services, convenience and new forms of public dialogue to the profound shifts in the remaking of our public realm, the idea that these technologies and the behaviours they enable and accelerate are rediscovering and in some cases inventing ways we need to talk with, to and about each other and the spaces in which we live our lives in common.
Great presentation and great style. Thanks.
