Web 2.0 for German local government
Slowly but steadily the German public sector is embracing Web 2.0. A new book has been published by the "Innovators Club" (Driver: German National Association for Cities and Towns). Its called "Web 2.0 for local government" (Web 2.0 für Kommunen und Kommunalpoliitk). It features insights in using Web 2.0 technologies and social networks in particuar as a new way for local politicians to engage better with citizens. One article (chapter 4.3) deals with Cisco's extensive use of Web 2.0 and social networks ("Soziale Netzwerke für Behörden") and offers some recommendations for first actions in order to implement Web 2.0 technology in public administrations. The whole book is going to be published also as a blog and wiki so readers can comment or rewrite the chapters. You'll find the book and the wiki here: http://ic.publicone.com/?page_id=586
