My background is from the DTI into City Regulation, latterly as a Director of the International Petroleum Exchange. Left there in 1996, and got involved in the area where the Internet and Markets converge, setting up a small dot com along the way (maybe 10 years too early!) and still doing a little in that area, advising the odd (very odd!) government. http://www.exchange-handbook.co.uk/index.cfm?section=articles&action=detail&id=38754 sums up where I got to about six years ago.... Since the Credit Crunch really started to bite I've been getting a lot of interest in the alternative "Peer to Peer" financing models I've developed with a bit of Norwegian government funding. Firstly in Iran, where this http://www.slideshare.net/ChrisJCook/introducing-the-petrotrust-presentation/ presentation got me in to see ministers, leading parliamentarians, a couple of heads of state owned corporations and so on. It's ironic how the sanctions intended to damage Iran ended up protect...
